Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and November 26th will be here before we know it!
If you’re hosting Thanksgiving dinner for family or friends, you probably have folks coming in from out of town; people you may only see once or twice a year. If this is the case, you’ll want to create a welcoming and festive atmosphere for your home and the dinner table. One of the easiest ways to do so is to incorporate flowers and create Thanksgiving flower arrangements.
Thanksgiving flower arrangements can be created in any color your prefer, but most people choose fall and autumn shades of orange, yellow, red and brown, which are considered the classic colors of Thanksgiving. There are a variety of flowers from which to choose including antique hydrangea, roses, Asiatic lilies, and marigolds. To make the arrangement even more unique and interesting, some people add fresh fruit such as apples or mini pumpkins. Others add interesting touches of nature including feathers, branches and acorns.
Once the arrangement is completed, it is typically placed on the center of the Thanksgiving table. While this is the most common place, some people choose to put it by the entranceway, on a table in the foyer, or next to the front door. Not only does the floral arrangement help to welcome people, but it’s a great conversation starter as it’s quickly noticed! I have friends who place flowers throughout the home including on an island in the kitchen, in the living room, on a fireplace mantel and even in the guest bedrooms where family and friends may be spending the night.
If you are a Thanksgiving guest, it’s always nice to bring a gift such as a bottle of wine or a box of candy. Many people choose to purchase flowers as a gift for the host or hostess. Doing so is a wonderful way to show your appreciation, and the beauty of flowers, is that they last beyond the Thanksgiving meal!
One of my favorite places to order flowers from is Flora2000. This international floral delivery company has been in business for 15 years and their Thanksgiving selections are outstanding! I love the arrangement called Colors of Dusk, which features chrysanthemums in shades of bronze, rust and yellow with orange roses. It is absolutely perfect for Thanksgiving! But, don’t wait to order. If you do so by November 20th and use the promotional code FALL15, you will save 15%.
Now, that’s something to be thankful for!
