Parties, After Parties and Networking

Imagine the following: You walk along with a lovely group of people, the sun shining brightly, light breeze ruffling your hair and sand stifling between you feet as the sea recedes. Welcome to a tropical paradise, a glorious beach side resort and who better to share it with wonderful people who share your ideas and way of life!

Just like everyone else, you too have been looking forward to this weekend and all the fun and unwinding that ensues. The place is Goa renowned for its tropical beaches, amazing parties, endless shopping and a vibrant nightlife.

You return to your resort, have a warm bubble bath or just a soak in the tub and get ready for the events, the cocktail party and dinner lined up for the evening.

The evening begins and you are impeccably dressed, maybe in the semi formal get-up or that cocktail dress you just bought, you meet the rest of the group, enjoy the social media themed cup cakes and various other fantastic choices of canapés.

The only difference is that the group of people have just met for the first time and this is a social meet up for a big brand engaging bloggers. Not only does this reverberate to a different set of untold rules, since this is fun mingled with work and networking in a big way, you have to keep in mind some subtle rules and code of decorum while enjoying your fullest.

From beer to scotch,  mojito to Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot, the choices are varied. The party pumps up with karaoke, and a famous on screen personality adds amazingness to the mix.

On one hand networking is in a full swing and on the other each table is engrossed in conversation, soaking in the fine weather and the amazing music.

People are making new connections and new friends. The choice of drink in someone’s hand is also speaking for itself. From careful selection to a random pick, they speak volumes about the person as they are casually judged by their new acquaintances.

If you are confused about the correct drink to order for such occasions you could go through the various guides available online to help you sail through it like a breeze. Not to mention, its better to stick to a few of them rather than going for a lot of them if you are having some for the first time.

As the party gets over rather early because there’s work and flights the next day, people who’ve become great friends over dinner and drinks decide to spend a little more time together.

They go about looking for a small pub to sit and chat over another round of drinks. If you are more inclined to the partying all night on the beach side, you could head over to the beach as well. Now comes the topic of safety. Sure the people who you’ve met over the course of the evening are great, and you have shared some great music, food and fun with them but it never hurt anyone to be cautious and careful about their own safety and those of others. Here too lies a special code of conduct that silently requires you to look out for each other, specially in a new place in the company of new people. Remember to live responsibly and have fun to the fullest. Cheers!
